We have a lot to offer
We treat children as independent personalities, whom we want to support as best we can in their learning and development. The aim is not to impart a fixed curriculum, but to offer a framework for self-determined learning based on self-motivation. We have many suggestions ready, but we always focus on the interests of the children. That's why we attach great importance to not planning everyday life in the children's shop for the children, but to shaping it with the children.
Our wild garden
Our large garden is just around the corner on the city wall. The garden, which is well protected from direct sunlight and the noise of the city with old trees, offers the children a wonderful space with endless play, learning and employment opportunities, such as a mud hole, swing, seesaw, two garden sheds, many children's vehicles, etc. Spend in the summer months we spend our days exclusively here (access via the Fürther Tor).
Small groups and project work
The entire group is divided into small groups by the pedagogical staff every year. The individual developmental stages of the children and their age are taken into account. Each small group is accompanied by a member of the team. In a democratic process, the group members give themselves their own name and initially collect similar interests. Various projects develop from this collection, on which the respective group works together once a week. Topics such as: "We are researching about flying / water / explosions / colors or similar" are brought to life here in a playful way by the children with the support of the group leaders.
Wild time in Lindersberg
Every year in early summer, the children's shop takes all the children and the entire staff to the Pathfinder House in Lindersberg near Feuerstein Castle for a week. Some parents go along to take care of the physical well-being.
Music, sports, fun and culture
Children of all ages enjoy rhythm and music. We support this with concrete offers (“music workshop” with a teacher from the music school “Musication” on site in the children's shop), but also by integrating music into our everyday lives. It's similar with the need for exercise: The children's shop offers regular, timed exercise programs such as yoga and gymnastics. In addition, the children go outside in the garden as often as possible, on a foray into the surrounding area or play simple street games on the forecourt of the children's shop. In the summer months, the children's shop moves almost completely into the garden. Numerous excursions (neighboring playgrounds, forest days, theatre) provide additional variety in the day-to-day life of the children's shop
